Aurelie and I went to the races at Ascot at the end of September. The new grandstand was something to behold and the facilities were nicer than I've seen elsewhere. The sunny autumn afternoon just added to the atmosphere.

The pre parade ring where the horses are walked before being saddled.

The saddling stalls are at the side of the pre parade ring

From the pre parade ring the horses are lead to the parade ring where they are walked around until the jockeys are called to mount.

On our way back to campus from Cornwall, we stopped at Tintagel castle. Again, it was a beautiful day and the place couldn't have been prettier. The castle was situated on an island/peninsula with sheer walls dropping about a hundred meters. The cliff edges were tantalizing :)

Some of the nice waves at Perranporth

In case you can't tell.. the above is a wall of green water taller than I am, right before breaking
