Today's thought

The funny thing about being a Christian, is that it never gets easier. It's not like a computer game where you progress from level to level until you master the game. One can never master Christianity. Sometimes we think we have understood and grasped a lesson and are pleased with ourselves, but immediately we get hit with a new issue to deal with and realize we aren't so perfect after all. We are not capable of perfection. There will always be something we need to work on in ourselves in order to become more like Him. Sometimes issues we think we've conquered come back and we have to deal with them all over again. It's a rather hopeless situation. But the beauty of it is that we're never given more than we can handle. If, from the moment we decide to follow Jesus, we were faced with every possible issue and challenge of being a Christian, it would be too much. But that is not the case. We are allowed to progress at our own pace. It never gets easier, but it never gets to be too much to handle either. Philippians 4:13 says "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me".

Hey Lahja!

This is a beautiful post. It's so encouraging. I check out your blog every once in a while to see how you're doing. I loved all the pictures from Africa last year. I was in Honduras as a student missionary and it was fun to see all your adventures. It's cool to see how God takes people on similar paths even though miles apart.

How are you? How's life? Are you at Newbold? Are you going to Oshkosh? I'd love to catch up with you sometime even if it's just an e-mail or two :) My e-mail is snyderj@andrews.edu if you don't already have it.

Best wishes and muchas bendiciones,
Jodi

I actually heard someone say "If you want your life to be interesting.. be a Christian!" It's true, though :)
