Day off

I had the day off today. Woke up late to a sunny morning :) It's been raining for so long now, I was starting to lose hope. I had the house to myself as mom was at work and the rest left for pathfinder camp at Kallioniemi. To pass time I watched 8 episodes of Friends (my sister had borrowed them from a friend). I was reminded of all the times we would gather after class at the UAP to watch an episode, or try to convince Susi that we were learning the language if we watched Friends with subtitles in spanish during class.. It was fun.

After Friends I went out to enjoy the evening and the flowers. It was so peaceful. Summer is so wonderful with light and flowers and warmth.

Kesäloma

Tulin juuri varkkarileiriltä. Kiva leiri oli, vaikka satoi melkein joka päivä. Onneksi sapatiksi tuli hyvät kelit. Kämppiksenä mulla oli aivan ihana matonpuistelijaparini Senni. Leirillä oli taas mukavaa. Ei kesä olisi oikeasti kesä ilman Kallioniemeä.

Nyt vietän kahden päivän kesälomaa :) ennen töihin paluuta. Mentiin lammelle aurinkoa ottamaan, mutta tummat ukkospilvet keskeyttivät puuhamme heti alkuunsa. Eipä muu auta kuin käpertyä sohvalle hyvän kirjan pariin..

my blog

I started this blog so that my friends can see what is going on in my life. For a brief update, I am now in Finland, living at home. I have the priviledge of working at the retirement home in Ristiina helping the elderly. My mom also works there :) Last night we worked the same shift and had fun. I have applied through Adventist Volunteers Service to go to Maxwell Academy in Kenya as a student missionary for the next school year, but I don't know yet whether they've accepted me or not. During my free time I read books, sit at the computer, play with the kittens..

Yo tengo este blog para que mis amigos puedan ver lo que está pasando en mi vida. Ahora estoy en Finlandia, trabajando en un hogar de viejos, cuidándolos. Mi madre trabaja conmigo en el mismo lugar. Recien mandé mi solicitud para ir como misionario voluntario a Maxwell Academy en Kenya, pero todavía no sé si me han aceptado. Es para el año que viene, empezando en Agosto. En mi tiempo libre leo libros, veo fotos en la compu, veo pelis, juego con los gatitos etc. Siempre hay cosas que hacer.

Aloitin tämän blogin jotta ystäväni voisivat nähdä mitä minun elämässäni tapahtuu. Tällä hetkellä olen kotona, Suomessa. Olen vanhainkodissa töissä, samassa paikassa kuin äitinikin. Hakemuksen olen lähettänyt Keniaan, Maxwell Academy nimiseen paikkaan lähteäkseni sinne oppilaslähettinä. En kuitenkaan vielä tiedä onko minut sinne hyväksytty. Tietoa odotellessani käyn töissä, nukun, luen kirjoja, katon leffoja.. niin, ja leikin kissanpentujen kanssa :) Ne on ihania!

Tenemos gatitos. Los más tiernos del mundo. Son cinco y tienen tres semanas de edad. Para mí, no hay nada tan dulce como un gatito.

Ya he estado en mi país cuatro meses. Hoy en la iglesia tuve que dar un testimonio. Yo les contó a los hermanos que Dios es amor. También dije que Él nos cuida en todo, aún con las cosas más pequeñas. Viendo la naturaleza y las flores por la ventana siento Sus manos abrazandome y Le doy gracias por todo.
